Yes, it's a completely different operating system based on GNU/Linux. In other words the Linux kernel and lots of other programs written from scratch, nothing to do with Windows

I got an Asus Eee as a christmas gift. It is very compact but i wish that the LCD screen was larger.

I've heard many things about fingerprint readers being insecure, especially low-cost implementations like those found in laptops/netbooks. MythBusters even proved this fact. Although having it as a second measure of security certainly doesn't hurt anything. Maybe the concern over Linux support, and the fact that ASUS openly encourages Linux on these machines?

Personally I think that the Asus N10e is an underated netbook, it has all of the specs of the similar lines, with the addition of the fingerprint reader. Most people don't realize how great that little utility is, especially for a netbook. I don't know about you but I like the ability to use my finger for logins and not have to worry about passwords. I'm wondering why this little netbook was left under the dust?
